These are some of the messages, President Paula Mae Weekes highlighted during the ceremonial opening of the second session of the 12th parliament at the Red House, Port of Spain on Monday.
Her Excellency called on politicians to put aside differences, display maturity and adopt a collaborative approach to get the nation’s business done.
The President reminded members of the Senate and the House of Representatives of what citizens require of them, especially in these challenging times, the role of parliament and some of the highs and lows which have been encountered.
President Weekes underscored the importance of politicians demonstrating respect, trust and confidence.
