Preparation Documents Reviewed At Commission Of Enquiry Into Paria Tragedy

Paria Fuel Trading Limited’s Operation Team Supervisor, Visham Harricharan, is questioned on the preparation documents before five divers went into the pipeline on February 25th.

Mr Harrichan was on duty on the day four of the divers lost their lives.

Counsel for the Commission, Ramesh Lawrence Maharaj, wanted to get more information from Mr. Harricharan on matters relating to how much oil was drained from the pipeline.

Mr Maharaj went into some of the factors which would have contributed to the tragic incident taking place.

Chairman of the Commission, Jerome Lynch, asked if liquid was taken out of the pipeline at varying levels what effects this will have in terms of the build-up of air.
