Demolition of the old central block at the Port of Spain General Hospital will begin in earnest by Tuesday next week.
Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, said he spoke to the contractor at the site and was given this assurance recently.
Speaking on the motion failure of the government to deliver on its health sector mandate in parliament Friday explained demolition work at the site had slowed for a variety of reasons.
However, Minister Deyalsingh said he was told by the contractor activity will picked soon in this area adding the staff must be complimented for their display of dedicated and patience.
