Population Assured No Shortage Of Cancer Drugs Locally

Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, is reiterating there is no shortage of cancer drugs in the country.

Dr Asante Le Blanc said before a Joint Select Committee last week there had been a shortage of drugs to treat cancer as well as antiquated drugs being used on patients.

Deyalsingh told the Power Breakfast Show Monday morning Dr Le Blanc is not an Oncologist so she was not qualified to speak on the matter.

He lamented doctors must now tell their patients to ignore her statements and work overtime to comfort and reassure them the drugs they are using are not antiquated nor is there a shortage.

He said she distressed Oncologists both in Trinidad and Tobago and the region given her statements were reported throughout the Caribbean.
