Police recover rental vehicle following robbery

A rental vehicle allegedly used in a robbery was recovered early this morning by officers of the Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol Unit, and the Arouca Criminal Investigations Department (CID).
On Tuesday, 9th February, at around 8 pm, a couple was at their home in Five Rivers, Arouca, when two men entered. One of the men was armed with a knife and the other armed with a firearm. The two men demanded money from the couple, dealt them blows about the body and stole, an LG 50” television, three cell phones, and $6,300.
After a report was made, to the Arouca Police Station, officers of the Arouca Criminal Investigation Department and Northern Division Emergency Response Patrol Unit conducted investigations and searches in the surrounding areas, where they found a black Nissan Tiida abandoned along Laurel Hill Extension, Arouca. The vehicle was searched and a 50” LG television and one cellphone was recovered. The officers also recovered an imitation firearm.
Investigations are continuing.
