Police found a firearm in a dustbin during anti-crime exercises conducted in Laventille between the hours of 1:00 pm and 9.30 pm on Thursday.
During the exercises, officers searched a dustbin located on Eastern Main Road, Laventille, close to the NP Gas Station and found one Taurus black and chrome pistol with one magazine, but no ammunition.
No one was arrested in connection with this find.
Additionally, two suspects from Morvant were arrested for housebreaking with intent, while a third suspect from Sea Lots was arrested for housebreaking with intent and possession of a prohibited weapon.
Investigations are continuing into both incidents.
