PNM PRO Laurel Lezama Lee Singh has called out the Opposition for being hypocritical.
She says that based on their protest action today, they are not interested in the very people they say they are standing up for.
She told News Power Now this morning that the actions of the United National Congress especially this morning proved that they are not as interested in the population as they say they are.
She said the UNC obviously does not care about the mental health of the children, teachers and parents who had to make their way to school early this morning.
Lezama Lee Singh that the UNC’s actions put the children through more stress, as they sought to make their way into unfamiliar territory as they returned to physical classrooms under different conditions.
She noted that the action was unacceptable and the PNM rejects it completely.
She stated that UNC should be concerned with other pressing matters.
She maintained that fuel prices in T&T continue to be competitive on an international level.
She also insisted that the Government has put support mechanisms in place to ensure that the population is helped to deal with the rise in fuel prices.
