PNM inflicting political tyranny on the democratic will of Tobagonians

The PNM Government is being accused of only being interested in laws that will serve their purposes.

Chaguanas West MP Dinesh Rambaly says that the Tobago Amendment Bill that was piloted in the parliament last Friday is inflicting political tyranny on the democratic will of Tobagonians.

The bill proposes changes to the THA Act, including an increase in the number of seats, to address the 6-6 election deadlock in the January 25th THA elections.
He made the comments yesterday at a UNC media conference at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, 11 Charles Street Port of Spain.

He said that various entities have become involved in the debate because of this.

He said the Bill sets the precedence for undue interference with the Elections and Boundaries Commission.
He also stated that Tobagonians made their voices heard in the recent THA elections and this formed the basis for the Bill being brought to Parliament.
