Officers of the Southern Division, Multi- Agency Task Force joined with several State agencies and seized a quantity of pharmaceuticals, electrical and food items during raids at supermarkets in San Fernando Tuesday.
Based on information received, inspections were conducted at a supermarket at the Southland Mall, Cross Crossing, and items were seized for failing the minimum standards for electrical items.
Inspectors from the Food and Drugs Division also seized items for failing to have the required approval.
As the exercise continued and the Multi- Agency Task Force proceeded to another supermarket at Market Street, Marabella, and more items were seized:
The officers also observed a gambling machine adapted for play whe, with play whe charts and play whe slips with twenty-eight thousand and forty-nine TT dollars at the premises.
The Financial Investigations Branch is conducting inquires as it relates to illegal gambling and money laundering.
