Parliament remembers First Peoples Community as celebrations end today

Speaker of the House, Bridgid Annisette-George, MP, laid a wreath at the First Peoples monument on Knox Street outside of the Red House.

Yesterday, October 13, made it three years since the First Peoples of Trinidad and Tobago observed First People’s Day in 2017.

This year represents the 20th year that the Santa Rosa First Peoples Community will host a few events in celebration of the day.

Today, on the final day of celebrations, the First People’s community will host a  Smoke Ceremony at the Hyarima Monument in recognition of the day.

A documentary of the First Peoples who also be shown on Wednesday.
