A top Qatari official disclosed that an estimated 500 migrant workers died while working on projects tied to the FIFA World Cup.
A TMZ report states that Hassan Al-Thawadi — Chief of the World Cup event, disclosed the amount during an interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV Monday.
Hassan Al-Thawadi said hundreds of migrant workers died as a consequence of World Cup labour.
“Between 400 and 500,” adding, that he did not have the exact number, which is significantly higher than previous official figures indicated.
