Reports state that at around 12:40 pm on Sunday, Gray and a 40-year-old friend were in a vehicle that was proceeding south along Clarence Trace in Valencia, when they had cause to stop along the roadway.

It was at this time that a man approached the car, pulled out a firearm, and allegedly shot at the men.
