Oh baby! Nine mothers were recognised on Mother’s Day by the ERHA

In keeping with the tradition of Mother’s Day, the Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) celebrated mothers at the Sangre Grande Hospital.

Ms. Janiah Joseph, who resides in Guaico, Sangre Grande was among the nine mothers who were recognised on Mother’s Day. She gave birth to the first baby born today at the Sangre Grande Hospital – a healthy baby girl named Xiah, who weighed 3075grams, was delivered by Staff Midwife Marlene David at 3:30am.

Mrs. Angelina Rampersad-Pierre, Acting Chief Executive Officer, and Ms. Lucy Torres, Member of the Board of Directors, recognised all mothers and expecting mothers admitted to the maternity ward and presented them with fruit hampers.

They were encouraged to focus on their health and to eat healthy especially after giving birth to help heal their bodies, stave off bone loss and to nourish their babies during breast feeding.
