The search is now on for another missing fisherman.
According to Fishermen and Friends of the Sea, Hemraj Maharaj of Suchit Trace, Penal was last seen on Tuesday 20th July 2021.
The state that he was swept away by currents while trying to save a fellow fisherman who was experiencing difficulties near the Caroni River in the Gulf of Paria.
FFOS is asking mariners to be on the lookout for Mr Maharaj and is urging fisherfolk to take precautions when going out to sea, including wearing life jackets.
The group says if persons have any information they can contact the Coast Guard, the TTPS Coastal and Riverine Unit or the nearest police station.
