Officers need help to I.D man who was killed crossing highway

Police are asking members of the public for help in identifying the body of a man, who was killed while attempting to cross the Churchill Roosevelt Highway on Sunday night,

Around 11 pm on Sunday, the driver of the vehicle, who is a police officer, was proceeding west along the highway in the vicinity of Food Basket Supermarket, when on reaching the intersection he proceeded through the green light when he struck a man crossing the highway. 

The man is of African descent and was clad in a black and white t-shirt and a red blue and white sweat pants and a black, white and red sneaker.

The officer, who is assigned to the Besson Street Police Station, stopped and made checks before contacting an ambulance.

The man was taken to the Arima Hospital and then to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where he succumbed to his injuries.
