Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly, Ancil Dennis took to his official Facebook account over the weekend to condemn the commentary done by Comedian, Kyle Hernandez.
Dennis said his words in the short clip were asinine and a highly offensive charade which he says is at a bad time when the country is on the “cusp of redefining the relationship between both islands.”
Dennis said it is not only insensitive and foolish, but reflective of the similar or worst views held by many across the waters.
He further expressed his disappointment by using traditional sayings some such as:
– Nuh all skin teeth ah laugh;
– Joke for you is death for crapaud;
– Nuh sit pon river stone and bad talk river;
– Laugh and cry does live in the same house;
– Ratta tongue does sell ih head;
Meanwhile Hernandez said his family is now receiving death threats over the short clip and says had the full 16 min set been uploaded, persons would have noticed that the aim was to shock but also shift the real purpose to have open discussions around issues both islands face.
