Nine Massy Stores Trinidad employees were given notice of separation on September 14th after on-going discussions and dialogue with the Contractors and General Workers Trade Union.
It said every effort is being made to ensure they are supported as they navigate this transition; the company has started to identify other employment opportunities, internally and/or externally.
It said as a responsible retailer and employer it is guided by its values and good industrial practice adding this was a difficult decision, made after careful consideration and an extensive review of operations and it remain committed to open dialogue with all stakeholders.
