A new documentary on 90’s children icon Barney reveals that the purple dinosaur was one of the most hated characters on TV.
Despite being known for his catchy “I love you, you love me” refrain, Barney attracted hate of immense proportions.
The upcoming two-part docuseries is titled “I Love You, You Hate Me”.
In the trailer, Bob West, a Barney performer who stepped into costume for the happy purple dinosaur, shared that death threats were made against his entire family.
He revealed that he received violent and explicit threats including death and dismemberment of his family while persons threatened to hunt him and kill him.
