Missing fisherman’s relatives preparing trip to Venezuela to ID body

The relatives of missing fisherman Rishi Khemchan, are preparing to head to Venezuela in order to identify the decomposing body of a man, to determine if the body found was in fact is.

Venezuelan authorities found the corpse tangled in the thick underbrush of the mangroves on the border of Cocuina, North Venezuela.

If the body is positively identified as Khemchand’s, the T&T Coast Guard will bring the remains back home for a funeral.

The relatives of the other missing fishermen — Andy Tallman George, Captain George Otis and Heeralal ‘Linus’ Kooblal, 54, from Grand Lagoon, Mayaro-are praying that they too will be found soon.

The four men left TT aboard the Benom 2 TFN 5906, over a week ago and were supposed to return hhome on Thursday, February 2.

But when they all failed to return, the families lodged a report at the Mayaro Police Station.
