New Auditor General Jaiwantie Ramdass officially been appointed

A new Auditor General has officially been appointed. Jaiwantie Ramdass has officially received her instrument of appointment as the new Auditor General of Trinidad and Tobago. The appointment was announced yesterday by President Christine Kangaloo in a post on the Office of the President’s Facebook page.

The post stated that Ramdass took the oath of office before President Kangaloo, who then presented her with her instrument of appointment. Ramdass was accompanied by her son, Saif Mohommed, at the ceremony. Ramdass has been a senior manager for over 25 years at the Auditor General’s Department.

After graduating in 1991 as a chartered certified accountant, she spent a short time in the private sector before moving to the Auditor General’s Department, where she rose through the ranks to the position of Deputy Auditor General which she held until now.
