NCRHA, Sanitec, and Tunapuna Regional Corporation collaborate to sanitize market

The North Central Regional Health Authority, in collaboration with the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation and Sanitec, took a pre-emptive strike against the COVID-19 virus on Friday as they partnered to sanitize the Tunapuna Market.

Present were, NCRHA CEO Mr. Davlin Thomas, Sanitec Managing Director Mr. Abhishek Ramsahai, Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation Chairman Kwasi Robinson and General Manager, Operations (NCRHA) Kimberly Rahamut.
According to NCRHA CEO Mr. Davlin Thomas, the undertaking was a landmark day for the Authority and a welcomed step in the right direction.

“For us, at the NCRHA, this proactive thrust emphasizes and underscores our intention to not only care for the sick, but to strategically implement preventative mechanisms and systems to reduce the possible incidence of persons contracting the COVID-19 virus, within our communities.” Thomas stated.

Sanitec Managing Director, Mr. Ramsahai explained that the operation which involved the sterilization, as well as the application of a protective coating to surfaces would effectively reduce and eliminate the growth of bacteria and pathogens for up to three weeks, mitigating the risk of possible spread.

CEO Thomas thanked the Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation and Sanitec for their commitment and contributions to creating a safe, comfortable environment for all vendors, customers and members of the community who visit the market particularly on weekends.
