Adverse weather alert extended to 10am Sunday

The Met Office has extended its Adverse Weather Alert – Yellow Level until Sunday at 10am.

In a media statement, it said as winds in the lower levels of the atmosphere remains relatively strong, there remains a high potential (70%) for gusty winds in excess of 55km/hr in the vicinity of showers/thunderstorms.

Seas can become agitated especially in the vicinity of heavy showers/thunderstorms.

Citizens are urged to secure any loose outdoor objects and continue to monitor weather conditions and updates from official sources via www.metoffice.gov.tt and www.odpm.gov.tt.

Many areas across Trinidad and Tobago have been experiencing high winds and rainfall.

The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development said it received several reports of fallen trees and blown off roofs.
