This is what will take place if it is found out – after investigations are done – that a 21 year old Venezuelan woman’s claims of being beaten and raped by Coast Guard personnel at the Heliport in Chaguaramas in May this year are true.
Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds, made the disclosure during a news briefing on Monday.
Mr Hinds commented on a daily newspaper story carried today headlined “ Life after Heliport ‘hell’, Venezuelan migrant woman in safe house.
The woman is in the safe keeping of the Counter Trafficking Unit.
Minister Hinds said the woman is given adequate security by the police throughout the day.
