Mother trapped behind wheel dies on highway

The road fatalities continue with the death of a 43-year-old mother on the Churchill Roosevelt Highway yesterday evening.

Reports indicate that Janine Carr-Weekes was driving her Toyota Hilux along the Highway in the vicinity of Trincity/Piarco when the vehicle skidded on the wet road and crashed into a light pole. The car was pinned between the light pole and the median, trapping Carr-Weekes behind the wheel. She was eventually freed from the crushed vehicle but died on the scene. The woman was married, and hailed from Santa Rosa Heights in Arima.
