MSJ Proposing Widening The Net Of Persons Who Contribute To NIS

The Movement for Social Justice is proposing increasing the net of persons who contribute to the National Insurance System.

MSJ suggests more contributors equal more income into the NIS.

It claims since many of the new people who will be in the net are younger, this will help to sustain the NIS.

The political party made the proposal as it reviewed the IMF Article IV Consultation Report issued on Monday.

It said the IMF is pushing for significant changes to the NIS, by increasing both the retirement age to 65 and increasing the contribution rates.

However, the MSJ believes both of these will be burdensome on workers.
