Police are currently on the scene of a murder in Penal.
The deceased has been identified as Reshma Kanchan.
Kanchan, who lived at Laltoo Trace, was severely chopped several times about her head by a close male relative.
The suspect is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
He reportedly got into a vehicle and slit his own throat before attempting to escape. However, the car crashed and he was detained by police.
Kanchan was a mother of two.
