“More teaching, less testing in schools,” says Education Minister

There is too much testing being conducted in schools.

Minister of Education Anthony Garcia said more teaching should be done in schools if education is to be delivered properly, and teaching done effectively. He said curriculum officers and supervisors have already visited some schools to ensure that more teaching is done in the classroom, adding that the visits will continue. The effort will be a collaborative one between curriculum officers and supervisors from the Ministry and principals and heads of department from the schools. He said teachers who need assistance will get the necessary help that they need, but that the Ministry is doing all that it can to ensure that more teaching is done in schools.
