Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh is reminding parents to have their children immunized.
Deyalsingh said that other countries have experienced a decrease in other countries’ immunization records.
“What we don’t want in Trinidad while we deal with Covid to have an outbreak of tetanus, measels, mumps, rubella, polio, whooping cough, diphetheria. All these childhood diseases, which can have grave consequences, can be mitigated by vaccination.”
Deyalsingh said he has not noticed a decrease but he wants to learn from other countries.
Meanwhile, Deyalsingh is also urging citizens on HIV therapy to continue their services.
He said he does not want to “reverse the gains” that were made in keeping HIV/AIDS numbers down and as such, is reminding persons that the HIV clinic are operational.
“So take advantage of our open clinics, our open facilities to deal with HIV.
