Picton II Booster Station Returned To Service, Says WASA

Repair works at the Picton II Booster facility were successfully executed and service restored.

The Water and Sewerage Authority says over the past two weeks supply to areas served off Picton II Reservoir were affected due to failure of electrical equipment impacting the duty pump at the station.

The Authority immediately activated repair teams and issued a series of notices informing customers of the disruption in supply and simultaneously redirected additional resources to provide a limited truck-borne supply to the area.

WASA also mobilized two smaller pumps into operation.

However, persons at the higher elevations and endpoints of Belmont, Gonzales and Layan Hill would have experienced lower pressures and in some cases, no water.

Last evening, the electrical issue was corrected and the facility returned to full operation at midnight.

WASA said due to the duration of disruption it may take up to 48hrs for supply to fully recover in accordance with established supply schedules.
