Military send-off for Tobago accident victims

Christian and Teresa Alleyne-Adams, the husband and wife who died in an accident on the sister isle earlier this month, are set to be given a military send-off on Thursday at the Shaw Park Cultural Complex.

A Newsday report states that the funeral will be done under full military rites with the viewing of the bodies from 9 am. This will be followed by tributes from 10 – 10.50 am.
The service begins at 11 am.

The bodies will then be escorted through Scarborough for a guard of honour at the Scarborough Fire Station before heading to the Mt St George Methodist cemetery for burial.

The media has been asked to respect the wishes of the bereaved, and as such, there are to be no pictures or footage taken of the open caskets for personal use or use by media houses. There are also to be no interviews with the children and parents of the deceased.

The funeral will be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube and other online platforms.

Christian – a fire officer and his wife, were killed in the accident on May 18.
They were on their way to pick up their children, when a truck overturned onto their vehicle on the Claude Noel Highway in Tobago.
