A man identified as Akeel Charles was shot and killed in Carapo late on Wednesday night.
Charles, 24, reportedly hired a taxi in El Socorro at around 11.25 pm and asked to be taken to Carapo and back.
While the taxi driver was driving on the Carapo Main Road, a white Nissan B14 drove near the vehicle and the occupants of the B14 opened fire on the taxi driver and Charles.
The taxi driver was wounded and drove to the Mt Hope Hospital where Charles was declared dead.
The taxi driver’s car had gunshot holes to the windscreen, front bonnet, front fender, driver’s side door and back door.
Investigations are underway.
