Man granted $15,000 bail after larceny incident

A 26-year-old man was granted $15,000 bail by a Justice of the Peace yesterday in connection with a larceny incident which occurred last week.

He will appear before virtually before a Port-of-Spain Magistrate on February 12th.

KASHIF WEEKES, of East Dry River, Port-of-Spain, was arrested and charged on February 8th by PC Lewis, of the Port-of-Spain City Police, with larceny from the person after being positively identified during an identification parade.

According to the victim, a female proprietor, on February 3rd she was completing a delivery order from her online business along Charlotte Street, Port-of-Spain, when a man grabbed the items and ran off.

A report was subsequently made to police, and while on mobile patrol along Charlotte Street yesterday, City Police Officers saw a man who matched the description of the suspect and arrested him.
