The crime situation is more than one dimensional and treating it as if it is will result in failure.
This is according to AMCHAM T&T’s President Stuart Franco.
He made the comment while speaking on the Power Breakfast Show this morning.
He said that one of the issues is that the TTPS is still using older technology than they should.
The business community has urged the government to go after white collar criminals in T&T as White-collar crime and corruption are insidious.
He said another issue is that nefarious activity is sometimes mixed with legitimate activity by those guilty of white collar crime.
Asked how much he felt the inadequacies and issues at Customs and Excise and Border Patrol contributed to white collar crime, he said that there is some connection.
However he believes that the issue of white collar crime is a much broader one and requires a balanced approached.
