Iron Park, the rhythmically pumping fete organised by WoW Events took place this past weekend and from all accounts, it did not disappoint.
The event was the first in a three day weekend experience, which also included the Carnival Upmarket and concluded with Soaka till Sunrise.
However, Iron Park, was an experience unto itself. Just as the advertisement said, it took pan, amplified it and multiplied it.
The concept saw pan ensembles like BP Renegades, Nutrien Silver Stars and Massy All Stars play alongside assigned deejays, where they clashed and played songs not normally heard of on the steelpan, fusing the cultures.
This year, the event was held at Queen’s Park West.
