The Medical Board of Trinidad and Tobago said after yesterday’s board meeting, it has launched an investigation into the comments made by Dr Avinash Sawh.
In a statement issued this afternoon, the Council said it deliberated the matter at its monthly meeting yesterday and has decided to follow due process and launch an investigation into Dr Sawh’s behaviour.
The Board said: ‘As an initial step, correspondence will be sent to Dr Sawh seeking an explanation.’
It added that the comments attributed to him can be construed as infamous and disgraceful conduct on the part of a doctor as defined in the Medical Board Act.
