Interruption in pipe borne water supply for Point Fortin and La Brea residents

The Water and Sewerage Authority (the Authority) advises customers in parts of Point Fortin and La Brea served by the Point Fortin Desalination Plant that there will be an interruption in their pipe borne water supply on Tuesday 15th December, 2020 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This has become necessary in order for Seven Seas Water (SSW), owner and operator of the Point Fortin Desalination Plant, to carry out emergency electrical maintenance work at the facility.

Areas affected include:

Point Fortin, Parry Lands, Cochrane, Brighton Cato, Harriman Park, Reservoir Hill, Salazar Trace, Egypt Village, Gonzales, Huberts Town, Lot 10, New Village and Clifton Hill.

Customers are further advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas, after the Plant returns to full operation.

For further information or assistance, customers are encouraged to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426. A limited truck-borne water service will be available with priority given to special homes, health care and government institutions.

The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience caused as a result of this situation at the Point Fortin Desalination Plant
