India Cricketers Defeat West Indies By An Innings And 141 Runs Inside Three Days

West Indies lost the first test match against India by an inning and 141 runs inside three days.

The victory was set up by spin bowler Ashwin who took 7 wickets for 71 runs from 21.3 overs.

Needing to score 271 runs to make India bat again, the regional side were dismissed for 130, less than their first inning score of 150.

Alick Athanaze who top scored for the Caribbean team in the first innings with 47 runs, led the way again in the second innings with 28.

Starting the third day’s play on 342 for 2 with Virat Kohli on 32 and debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal on 142 runs, India declared on 421 for 5.

Jaiswal was dismissed for 171 runs which included 16 fours and one six.

Kohli made 76 runs.

On Thursday Captain Rohit Sharma scored 103 runs.

The second test match starts on July 20th at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain.
