The CEPEP Company says it does not engage gangs and condemns all gang violence.
It explains the company does not subcontract work.
CEPEP indicates sub-contracting of work is cause for immediate termination from the programme.
The CEPEP programme has been in existence for the last twenty years.
It gave the update as it commented on a headline published on the front page of a daily newspaper which read, “Gang War Over CEPEP Contract”, adding this article alludes to criminal elements receiving CEPEP contracts.
Three hundred and forty contractors currently operate under the programme across Trinidad adding it is very proud of this social programme which not only provides employment to thousands of persons but also entrepreneurial training and development to small business owners.
