Independent Senator calls for better vetting of persons entering the TTPS

A suggestion is made for better vetting of persons who enter the Police Service in Trinidad and Tobago.

Independent Senator, Helon Francis, maintains this will ensure the TTPS is not infiltrated with corrupt officers.

Government plans to triple annual recruits to the police service, provide $80 million in additional funding for new vehicles and equipment in the new financial year.

Mr. Francis also called for responsible action in the fight against crime.
