Finance Minister, Colm Imbert, tells the Senate over ten billons ($10B) US dollars have been sold over a five year period.
Minister Imbert provided the information during the question and answer segment of the proceedings today.
The Finance Minister was at the time responding to a question from Opposition Senator, Wade Mark, who wanted to know what specific measures are being put in place by the Government to address the foreign exchange shortage in the market.
