HDC Continues it Debt Collection Drive

The Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation continues its debt- collection drive to recover monies owed, a total of $747,874.48, from residents at the Tarodale Housing Development, also known as Tarodale Gardens San Fernando.

Today, the HDC’s Security Department, in the presence of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service engaged in an eviction exercise in the community to prevent any untoward incidents.

The residents were evicted for a breach in their rental agreements for non-payment since 2008, in some instances.

Residents were evicted due to: 1) Non-payment of rent since obtaining the property.

2) Illegal occupancy due to death of original tenant.

3) Alternative living arrangements.

4) Relinquish possession of the properties to relatives.

HDC said it must be noted that these tenants were pre-warned on two prior occasions, before a final
warning was issued on Thursday October 5, 2023.

During this time, the residents were encouraged to make payments towards their arrears.
