A 25-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Belmont on Saturday night.
Reports state that Shakell George was walking to Belle Eau Road to meet someone to sell an item around 7.30 pm when a black Nissan X-Trail drove near him and several men jumped out.
They opened fire on George, who attempted to run away, but collapsed nearby at the corner of Walcott Lane.
The gunmen then got back in their vehicle and sped off through Pitman Hill and into Gonzales.
Police are investigating and trying to determine a motive for the murder.
