Guapo schoolboy hospitalised after car slams into him

A Standard 5 student of a primary school in Guapo is today nursing injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross the road near his school on Monday morning.

The male child had exited a maxi taxi around 7.30 am along the Southern Main Road at Vance River Village and was attempting to cross the road from the rear of the maxi when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle.

He landed on the bonnet of the vehicle before it crashed into a parked car that then collided with a pick-up van.

The impact of the collision threw the child several feet onto the road.

The boy was taken to the Point Fortin Hospital and then transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital.
