Griffith: I’m trying to prevent ‘political domestic violence’!

Deputy Political Leader of the United National Congress Jearlean John has been insisting that the party does not require any help to win the next general election.

This according to Head of the National Transformation Alliance Gary Griffith is the main issue for the fracture in the relationship between himself and Opposition Leader Kamla Persad Bissessar.

He told the Power Breakfast Show this morning that prior to the last local gov’t election Persad Bissessar contacted him constantly because she was aware that the UNC needed the push from his party.

However he said in a meeting with the two parties, Jearlean John stated that the UNC had no need for collaboration with any other party as they were capable of winning the election alone.

He revealed John made those remarks to other political parties as well.

He insisted that he’s trying to prevent the same mistakes that were made with the People’s Partnership from 2010 – 2015.

In short he said he’s trying to prevent what he termed ‘political domestic violence’.
