Government voices disappointment with the call by the Opposition Leader for United National Congress Councillors to boycott Tuesday’s local government reform stakeholders meeting.
Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Faris Al Rawi, told a news briefing the move by the Opposition did not help the process of getting feedback on operational aspects and other areas of improving the local government structure.
Funding, manpower, services delivered and other areas of importance were on the agenda according to Minister Al Rawi.
However, Minister Al Rawi said the ruling administration continues to remain focus on what needs to be done to enhance the system.
