‘Jaws’ hospitalised following hit and run accident

A man identified only as ‘Jaws’ was critically injured in a hit and run accident on Tuesday night.

Jaws, who has one hand, and is said to be a well known scrap iron dealer from San Fernando, was reportedly walking along the roadway in Diamond Village when he was struck by a speeding vehicle.

The incident occurred at around 8pm.

The car, according to an eyewitness, was a gold Nissan Tiida, and the driver did not stop.

An Express report stated that Jaws was thrown into the air, fell on the vehicle’s windscreen and then rolled onto the roadway. The driver then sped off.

The man was rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital by a good Samaritan.

Police said the vehicle was later found abandoned along the Solomon Hochoy Highway.
