An appeal has been made by Independent Senator, Dr. Maria Dillon Remy, for the Government and Opposition to put aside differences that exist between them.
Dr Dillon Remy said this approach is critical at this time when Trinidad and Tobago must stay focused as it navigates it way through the Covid-19 pandemic and other challenges.
The Independent Senator made the request during her contribution to the Appropriation Financial Year 2022 Bill in the Senate Monday afternoon.
Dr Dillon Remy said division among politicians in no way help the country move forward in its development.
Dr Dillon Remy also referred to an article entitled Covid-19 governance and the role of the Opposition dated May 20th from the Griffith Institute in Australia which cited benefits derived internationally when leaders team up and work together during crucial times.
Dr Dillon Remy cited some of the words of a nation building song done by the late Calypsonian Merchant.
