Trinbago Knight Riders aim to go top of CPL T20 table today

Trinbago Knight Riders could go top of the CPL T20 table today with a victory over the bottom placed Barbados Royals.

The opportunity comes as top of the table St Kitts & Nevis Patriots extended their losing run yesterday with a 22 run loss to Jamaica Tallawahs.

Buoyed by Shamar Brooks’ 43 runs and a hard hitting, six laden innings from Rovman Powell and Andre Russell, the Tallawahs posted 169 for 8 in this innings.

Patriots in response limped to the finish line, managing 147 for 8 in response, handing them their third defeat in a row, after starting the tournament with five successive wins.

The Guyana Amazon Warrior last night also evened the scores when they pulled off a 17 run victory over St Lucia Kings.

The win means Patriots remains top with 10 points while TKR in 2nd, the Kings in 3rd and the Amazon Warriors in 4th all share 8 points each but remain separated by net run rate.

The top 4 teams will move into the semi-finals at the weekend.
