Gonzales: Padarath wrong for divulging info on security arrangements for TSTT Acting CEO

Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales has slammed opposition MP Barry Padarath for revealing information about the security arrangements for TSTT’s acting CEO Kent Weston during a press conference on Wednesday.

He described his actions as irresponsible.

He told the Power Breakfast Show this morning that when it comes to security matters of this nature while he understands the public’s need for information on expenditure on the matter, he prefers to be ultra-conservative.

He said what the opposition is seeking to do is scandalize the issue for their own gains, and not realise that they are putting people’s lives in jeopardy.

He stated that Barry Padarath is not interested in anything else but political gain.

With regard to the investigation into the cyber-leak that led to the exit of Ms Lisa Agard he said that he has been told that the report is near completion

He said that he expects it to be done within the coming week or two.

The Minister revealed that his position is that the report be laid in the Parliament and referred to the Joint Select Committee.
