Former PP minister embraces UNC/ILP talks

Former Minister in the People’s Partnership administration, Kevin Ramnarine, says he is open to the idea of ILP leader Jack Warner and UNC Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar working together once again.

Persad-Bissessar and  Warner were pictured conversing while “arm in arm” at a UNC fundraising event on Saturday.

It was the first time they had spoken since 2013 after Warner resigned from the UNC and formed the ILP as part of the fallout from an alleged corruption scandal connected to Warner’s tenure in FIFA.

The pictures spurred belief that the duo plans to work together once again to unseat the PNM.

Particularly as Persad-Bissessar recently said the UNC is willing to work with smaller parties to take on the PNM in the 2025 General Election.

Speaking with Power 102 Digital’s Power Breakfast Show this morning, he said a strong opposition is important for good governance.
